-- Physical phenomena involve the physics of matter and energy --

Many of the topics in this section have been studied and are understood in great depth. However, there might be rare articles that deal with topics that are only understood to a certain degree by mankind. When we venture toward the theoretical side of nature, I try to note the depth of the current understanding and consensus among scientists, and I will explain the phenomenon to that general extent.

Understanding Fluids: The Motion of Baseballs and Golf Balls
Hardly do we acknowledge the crucial aerodynamic forces involved in the sports we play, and we would not have the major sports we do today without a thorough understanding of aerodynamics. Discover the nature of how balls move through fluids!

Understanding Light
What exactly is light? How does it enable us to see things? Light behaves extremely oddly with respect to a number of areas, and without our understanding of the properties of light, we wouldn't be able to manipulate it for the advancement of technology.

Understanding Gyroscopic Motion
Do we even wonder why it is that we stay balanced on a bicycle when it is in motion, but we fall when it is stationary? Likewise, do we ever wonder how a top stays balances when it's spinning, but not when its stationary? The same physical laws govern both circumstances, so let's understand the answers to both questions.

Understanding Chinook Winds
The Chinook wind is perhaps one of the most bizarre weather phenomenon. Chinook winds are responsible for causing very extreme temperature rises in very short time. These winds bring in very warm gusts of wind capable of melting snow in a matter of minutes. Learn how this extraordinary phenomenon works!
