Introduction

Thanks to the elegant and interesting, yet extremely complicated phenomena that make up the field of aerodynamics, we are able to partake not only in airplane flights and space flights, but also in many sports such as baseball, golf, and tennis which all rely on the subtle and nuanced motion of balls through air. How objects travel and behave through the medium of air is responsible for how different games have evolved, and how we play, interact, and understand many of our sports today.

In this article, we'll examine how air and other fluids affect the motion of objects with particular focus on sports.
